Two years ago we welcomed you into the world and gave you a name that would take months for your grandparents to say correctly.
Two years ago you slept for hours while I took pictures of you and didn’t make a peep.
I’m so thankful I have the photos to remind me because it doesn’t seem possible that such a quiet and peaceful baby could turn into such a spunky and hilariously loud toddler. You have been called a spitfire, a pistol, future class-clown and (sabrina’s favorite) a “naughty-new”. Not sure exactly what that means but it seems to suit you.
Right now you have an obsession with farms. Countless times a day you ask (demand) to ‘SEE FARM!!” This is fine when we are visiting family in Sussex county and it worked out well on vacation since we did pass many fields with animals but on a day-to-day basis this is one obsession I hope you grow out of soon as it’s difficult to produce farms for you in the middle of Ridgewood. Your other great love is The Wiggles and now everyone in the house has memorized the words to every song and we even all have our favorite wiggle (mine is Greg).
You are fearless and strong and fast and athletic and a danger seeker. We have no idea how you got a chip in your front tooth since you never cried whenever it happened. I see lots of grey hair in my future and my heart races whenever I take you to a playground. You think you are a 5 year old boy.
Behind all of this, there is such a sweetness about you- you give the best bear-hugs and wet kisses and high-fives. But my favorite thing is whenever we go somewhere without Sabrina you sit in your car seat and tell me you want to “see Sis-ser”
Happy birthday Thérèse!

We are enjoying our vacation in the Hamptons although I wish I could say we were sleeping in. Thérèse has been up for the day between 5 and 5:30 every morning since we got here. At least she is in good spirits and the girls are loving the beaches here. They have been collecting rocks and shells and flying kites and building sand castles. Once again I have taken way too many photos so here are just 3. More to follow later this week to share the photos I took of Thérèse at the beach the other evening for her 2nd birthday photo session.

We were so lucky to get away to Cape Cod for a long weekend to attend my cousin’s wedding. We had a rough car-ride up (8 hours with a 2 year old who puked all over our brand new car) but once we were there it was such a wonderful weekend. We are already planning our trip back next summer. I took 347 pictures and am slowly going through them- it makes me miss the days of film where I’d just shoot, bring to the lab and come home with envelopes filled with prints to stick in my album. Now it takes me hours to weed through the keepers and process them. I’m sharing a few which are mostly from our first night in Brewester at the bonfire my cousin and his fiancee threw for everyone the night before their wedding. The sunset was incredible and it was such a treat to have a sunset over the water.

These are from a 1.5 mile hike we went on with the girls through marshland- they did SO great considering we couldn’t bring the stoller. Both walked/ran almost the entire time

and both girls loved the ocean!

I haven’t shared my girls over here in almost 3 months. There are a couple of reasons for that. Partly because I’ve had 10-15 client sessions per month in April, May and June so I’ve gotten behind with my own family photos. Partly because my blonde monkey is at a crazy age right now and has made it her mission in life to prevent me from getting a photo of her being still. And finally, because about 10 weeks ago my mom chopped off Sabrina’s hair. when I asked her to trim her bangs. It was BAD. Tears were shed and I just didn’t take many photos of her in the weeks afterward because she didn’t look like herself at all. Now after almost 3 months of growing it actually is a really cute cut for her and I think suits her perfectly. Don’t you think?

She is SOOO good with the camera, always up for having her picture taken. I got a new lens yesterday so before I brought it with me for a client session I asked her to let me try it with her. My little model. oh and the lens is FAB

That blonde monkey I mentioned earlier? Such a little stinker.

I started to print some canvases of the fine art stuff I posted in the spring. I have plans for a few more this summer – I have some shots I want to take on our vacations but in the meantime I took a couple spring images.
