Routine

I’m really surprised by how smoothly things have been going these first 11 days as a family of 4.  Thérèse continues to be the most mellow, sleepy and content newborn and Sabrina is totally smitten with her.  Our days have consisted of Sabrina running around doing what toddlers do best, like yesterday helping Daddy water the plants

while little T either is sleeping, eating, pooping or in her quiet alert phase like she was this morning

She loved laying on Sabrina’s big girl bed, although Sabrina was quick to remind me and her baby sister that: “This bed is just Sabrina’s big girl bed.”

That’s ok.  I don’t think T will have any trouble sleeping :)

My Girls

Just wanted to share a few snapshots of Sabrina holding Thérèse for the first time.  She loves her baby sister so much :)

And this is the face I see 90% of the day:

I asked Sabrina what her baby sister likes to do and she said: “Eat, sleep and make poopies.”

That about sums it up for now!

Stay just like this

Trying to come up with a title for this post, I kept coming back to this.  We are so incredibly blessed to have not only a healthy baby but one that is also sweet and precious and well….just pure perfection.  I want her to stay this tiny sweetheart forever.  She is a week old today and has grown already so we are just enjoying every minute – even at 2am- with our little Thérèse.  Here are a few shots from this week.  My goal for this next week is to get my girls together for a photo.  Sabrina is so loving and attentive- she has amazed us this week!

Our Family is Complete!

It happened at 5:08am on August 18 2008 after a very loooooong 16 hours of labor!

Welcome to the world Thérèse Juliette!!!

I’m guessing many of you are wondering: “How the heck do you pronounce that???”

so the phonetic spelling is:

T e – r e z

So it’s easy to SAY even if not easy to read. Yes it’s French and those who know me pretty well should not be surprised :)

Sabrina had us cracking up because after I told her what her new sister’s name is I wanted to see if she would repeat it back correctly so I asked her what her baby sister’s name is she said: “Thérèse- it’s a French name.” Chris was next to us and said “that’s right! and Sabrina answers: “No, Daddy speaks English. Daddy you say baby sister and Mommy and Sabrina say Thérèse.”

Anyway life is hectic and we are all tired so I will keep this short and leave you with a quick snapshot of my perfect little girl

One more thing I think is interesting- both of my girls were born exactly on their duedates and weighed exactly the same size (7lbs 11oz) and I gained the exact amount of weight both pregnancies as well (a whopping 43lbs!). It will be fun to see personality-wise how they will be similar!  I can’t wait :)

I think it goes without saying that MANY many more photos to follow!!!

wrapping things up!

I am just waiting on one more package to arrive before I am officially on maternity leave….my duedate is Monday so stay tuned for news of the arrival of this little girl :)

A quick scheduling note. I will be on maternity leave until September 14th. I am fully booked for 2008 and am accepting session requests for 2009.

I can’t post without a photo so I have 2 product shots to share. Today I was so excited to see FedEx pull up in front of my door because I knew there would be TWO gorgeous canvas prints for me to. They are already on their way to their owners but I couldn’t resist taking a photo of them- canvases are my favorite products!!! I cannot wait to fill up my shelves in my living room with canvases of my family!!
