About 8 years ago when Emily and I first met I would have never guessed the path our friendship would take. We were new moms to babies who are now 9 years old and then were pregnant together and welcomed our second babies who are now 6. Through it all Emily has been an amazing, supportive, generous friend who I rely on daily. The past two years have been an emotional roller coaster as we waited for her beautiful daughter to finally come home. Many tears were shed through the frustrating process but she is here and in her forever home and I couldn’t be happier. Lyla is pure joy and so loving. The first time I met her she led me by the hand into her living room and took pictures of me with Em’s iPhone. This week when we took these images at my studio she held my hand on the walk over from the car. She has the most amazing smile that lights up the room and my face hurt from smiling as we took pictures together.
