Today you turn five. You start each day by literally jumping out of your bed. We hear your little feet scamper down the hall and into our room where you crawl under the blankets to cuddle. The rest of the day you are silly and full of energy but I love that you start off the day so peacefully just wanting to be hugged.
You love Connect Four, quesadillas, finding worms and wearing your goggles + snorkle (in the tub, at the pool, on the beach and in the car). You will spontaneously start speaking in a British accent or pretend that you are a penguin robot and you love to have your back scratched. You are funny, fast, fearless and stubborn and full of surprises for us every day.
At 32 lbs you are still so easy to carry around and I probably pick you up and carry you on my hip more than I should. But I know that the time will come soon enough when you won’t want to be picked up. So I hold you often and I hold you tight.
